High level content. Your website should be of a spiritual, educational, scientific or any other nature, that makes the web to be a better place, teaches something new, gives the visitor a reason to come back and extend the visitor’s horizons.

No less than 7 pages of original content. Pages such as guest book, forums, email form, entering page, banner exchange pages, and awards won pages, will not count as original content. We want to see at least 7 pages of original material.

You must be the webmaster and designer of a website you are submitting. Since this Awards Program has a big emphasis on the technical aspect, it is important that the site will be built by you. The design of your site is 33% of the score, and therefore we wouldn't want to reward you for someone else's work too.

You should not be under 13 years of age (COPPA). We do not accept applications from webmasters under the age of 13, please read our privacy policy for more details.

Easy navigation. Your site must be easy to navigate, i.e. within a few clicks any page should be available (without using the browser's back button). Moreover, the navigation should be consistent on all pages, or at least on all major pages.

Your website must have a clear purpose. The purpose and leitmotif of your website must be clear right from the front page. Will the visitor know right away what the website is going to offer?

The website must be in English, Russian, Hebrew, Italian or German. These are the only languages our evaluators will be able to read. Additionally, you must have correct spelling and moderately good grammar. Please run a spell check before submitting your website. (Up to 3 spelling errors will be allowed though).

All images must have 'alt' tags. Alt tags are important in case the image doesn't load properly or at all, so that the visitor will still be able to know what was supposed to be in the place of the missing picture. Remember that if you have no alt tags, your site will not pass W3C validation and would be disqualified. This is a very small thing and often gets overlooked by beginner webmasters, so it's important to pay attention to this issue.

No broken images. Actually, all images must load properly. Please check if your code doesn't link the image to your hard drive, it happens occasionally when using HTML-visual-editors, the webmaster sometimes doesn't notice it, because he is still able to see the images even when they are uploaded to the server. Moreover, all images must be stored in your server and not be linked to another website. Linking to other websites will be considered as bandwidth stealing.

Browser's capability. Your website should be compatible with latest versions of Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera and Netscape. We will be testing your site in all the major browses. If your site looks best in a particular browser, or was designed for, let's say, Nescape -- you should state it somewhere at the first pages of your site (preferably the front page). However, it should still function and display properly in the browsers mentioned above.

Consistent layout. All pages must be laid out in a consistent manner. color scheme and main theme must match throughout the site and not change from page to page. It is recommended to work with a template, which (visually) will remain intact through the website and offer a persistent navigation as well.
